Adam stumbles upon his tempting EveWith her juicy, ripe, forbidden fruit.
Obedient child of God's hand?Nay, for the scriptures have it all wrong!
For Eve is silent,Tempting Adam not with words,But with Stillness,Mysteriousness,Emotion.
Adam's parched palate salivates with desireAs Eve presses her fruit upon his lipsOffering not a bite,Just barely a nibble.
Eve sleeps through her sweet dreamsAs insomniac Adam stares wide-eyed at God's stars,His hunger haunting his heart. His moist eyes eventually glue his lids shut,Just in time for Eve to awaken himAnd taunt him once more.
She knows his thoughtsAnd it pleases her. Each day she tempts him,Making his mouth sweat more and more
How satisfied she would feel to finally relinquish her fruit to him…If only she were not afraid.© Brian Jude
